Injured Navy veteran fulfills dream of graduating from college

A Navy veteran is marking the end of a long road to recovery.

Samanthia Silke grew up in Front Royal, Virginia.

After high school she joined the Navy and after 3-years of service she was deployed to Bahrain.

It changed her life forever.

She was in a horrific accident that nearly took her life.

After more than 15 surgeries and years of rehab she is finally reclaiming her life by completing college.

On Friday, she graduated from ECPI University in Manassas with a degree in criminal justice.

Samanthia already has a full time job as an 'Advocate Supervisor' helping abused and neglected children.
