5 people were rescued from Tenleytown metro station elevator

Five people were rescued from a stalled elevator in Tenleytown Sunday afternoon, fire officials say.

According to a DC Fire and EMS tweet, five people were stuck in the elevator at the Tenleytown Metro station 40 feet below street level and above station level.

DC Fire and EMS say Special Ops and other units successfully removed all five people.

The people in the elevator were fortunately not injured and did not require medical attention.
