106-year-old Virginia McLaurin says meeting President Obama, First Lady one of her greatest memories

At 106 years old, Virginia McLaurin didn't let her chance to meet President Obama go by her with just a simple handshake!

When she recently fulfilled her dream of visiting the White House she did it up to the fullest - shaking hands, hugging, and even having a dance with the President and First Lady.

Mrs. McLaurin spoke with us on GoodDayDC and said she was thrilled with the experience. She said she was treated so kindly by all of the staff and other visitors who took her aside and learned her story.

McLaurin still works five days a week - eight hours a day. She said that she grew up in South Carolina during segregation and never thought she would live to see an African-American president.

She said that her visit is one of her life's greatest memories.

"It was an honor for me," she told us. "I really jumped for joy."
