Account Executive (Regular, Full-Time)
Fox 5 WTTG News, Washington DC the #1 News Station and most hours of local news is looking for a highly motivated Account Executive to join our sales team.  Responsibilities include working directly with ad agencies and clients to increase station revenue and shares through growing core business; sales of sports and specials, internet and new business development; achieve budgeted goals, maximizing revenue and share performance for the station and create multi-platform packages, group presentations, negotiate and close business.  Must have a strong record of accomplishment of increasing station revenue/share on existing business and the ability to develop new business.  In addition, must have excellent communication, organization and presentation skills; possess a creative approach to multi-platform sales initiatives and thrive in a fast-paced environment.  Qualifications:  Solid computer skills, with proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel and knowledge of industry software required.  College degree preferred.  This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced top ten-market seller or for someone with 3-5 years of successful broadcast experience in a middle market to break into the top ten with a dynamic and highly rated FOX O&O.  To apply, click here
 

ELC Director (Per Diem, Part-time)
Fox 5 WTTG News, Washington DC the #1 News Station and most hours of local news is looking for an experienced and creative newscast director to join its production team. We utilize a fully automated control room to produce over 12 hours of live news daily.  The ideal candidate will have experience with a production automation system, preferably Sony ELC. Knowledge of the Sony 8000 switcher, ChyronHego tools (Camio, Axis & Luci), robotic cameras and iNews are a plus. Additional duties may include directing weekly political and sports shows, promos, satellite interviews and pre-produced segments.

Qualifications: HS Diploma (or equivalent) required. Executive Producer (Regular Full-Time)
Fox 5 WTTG News, Washington DC the #1 Fox 5 WTTG News, Washington DC the #1 News Station and most hours of local news is seeking a passionate, enthusiastic and creative executive producer.   The ideal candidate must have a proven track record as an executive producer or similar managerial experience, with a dedicated, driven and tireless work ethic. A real passion for owning a show and the ability to work with on-air talent on all editorial, performance and personnel issues a must. Will oversee producers, writers, editors, photographers, on-air reporters and anchors in disseminating all facets of the news, and production of our talk and entertainment segments. Must have a strong news sense, with the ability to also run the control room during breaking news situations, and the ability to lead our team on large remote broadcasts.

Qualifications: Understanding of ratings, meters, and audience flow, and the knowledge of how to use this information to attract a demographically driven audience. A strong understanding of the importance and use of social media required. Candidates need to be innovative and bring ideas on how to evolve our broadcasts. Maintenance Technician (Regular, Full-time)
Fox 5 WTTG News, Washington DC the #1 News Station and most hours of local news is seeking a Maintenance Technician (Full-time). Duties include maintenance and troubleshooting of digital and IP broadcast electronic equipment to the component level in cameras, routers, switchers, microwave, transmitters, media servers, graphic systems, digital audio consoles and other equipment.  The successful candidate must be a problem solver who will be responsible for both corrective and scheduled preventive maintenance. Component level electronic troubleshooting skills and exceptional IT skills are required. Must have an understanding of computers and networking as they apply to broadcast equipment. Preference will be given to persons with demonstrated ability in system design, installation of new equipment, and support of plant operations.

Qualifications: Current, relevant experience with digital video compression/encoding techniques, ATSC /MPEG transmission, and Bitcentral Newsroom is a definite plus. UHF IOT transmitter experience is also preferred. To Apply Click Here
 

Photographer  (Regular, Full-Time)

This individual will cover general news assignments in a fast-paced news environment using electronic camera and editing equipment; applying techniques appropriate to each story. Understanding of different camera/media formats required. Planning Editor (Regular, Full-Time)
Fox 5 WTTG News, Washington DC the #1 News Station and most hours of local news is looking for a Planning Editor to plan segments, news coverage and produce content for all newscasts.  Work closely with executive producers, producers, reporters and anchors to ensure that segments and stories are enterprise and accommodated in newscasts.  Daily duties include researching story ideas, booking guests, conducting interviews, and producing stories, segments and producing up the screen for all newscasts.  Understand the logistics of the assignment desk and the needs of a newscast through a producer’s eyes.  Work with web site in developing stories, segments and projects to work in conjunction with newscasts. Responsible for gathering story info from various news sources and determining the newsworthiness. Make decisions on what stories to cover that will be timely, news worthy and break news on our broadcast and digital platforms.  Have the ability to alter segments as newsbreaks and changes. Keep news staff apprised of breaking news and changes in assignments. Communicate with affiliates to ensure continuity in coverage. Coordinate coverage of special events.  Qualifications: College degree in broadcast journalism or other related field.  Previous assignment desk and/or producing experience preferred.  Must be well organized and able to manage multiple projects. Studio Technician  (Freelance)
Fox 5 WTTG News, Washington DC the #1 News Station and most hours of local news is looking for a Freelance Studio Technician. Fill a variety of production roles for our newscasts and prep material for air on our two stations. Roles may include, technical director, audio board operator, character generator operator, robotic camera operator and floor director. Also, master control commercial and program prep. May also operate master control during live sports and at other times. Operate Sony ELC automation and Sony MV8000 video switcher. Operate Sony MV8000 video switcher in manual mode (w/o ELC control). Operate SSL audio C100 and C10 audio console and all associated audio equipment. Operate Chyron Camio/ISQ system, controlling Chyron Mosaic and PowerClips servers. Operate Vinten robotic cameras. Floor direct and provide cues to talent in the studio. Use iNews computer and Sony ELC playlist viewer. Use Miranda iTX master control system to prepare programming and commercial content for air. Edit the iTX playlist as needed to add, delete and adjust programming and commercial segments for air. Operate iTX during live programming, including sports, to trigger commercial breaks on cue and adjust for programming which is over or under the program length.

Qualifications: Work professionally as part of a cohesive team within specific time constraints.  HS diploma or equivalent required, college pref. One year recent commercial TV experience required. The ideal candidate will have all of the skills and experience listed above, but we will consider applicants who have strong abilities in some or most of these skills. WTTG/WDCA is a 24x7 operation. Traffic Coordinator/Log Editor (Regular Full-Time):
Fox 5 WTTG News, Washington DC the #1 News Station and most hours of local news is looking for an experienced Traffic Coordinator/Log Editor. Responsibilities include ensuring advertiser schedules run with the correct commercial material. Schedule paid programming, update and resolve commercial assignments into computer system adhering to tight deadlines. Provide backup support to fellow copy coordinator as well as work in various traffic positions, as needed. Other duties assigned as deemed necessary and appropriate.

Qualifications: Candidate should possess strong written and verbal communication skills. The ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously with strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Experience with commercial operations, traffic instructions, TV Station traffic department operations and Wide Orbit is a plus.
