Account Executive (Regular, Full-Time)

Senior Digital Producer (Regular, Full-Time)
Fox 5 WTTG News, Washington DC the #1 News Station and most hours of local news is looking for a Sr. Digital Producer. Duties performed include: Supervise daily news coverage across all digital platforms. Responsible for overseeing all daily editorial decisions and presentation of content on web, mobile, and social platforms. Assist Web Producers with creating and publishing text stories, video, photos, streaming of newscasts, breaking news and live news events whenever necessary. Ensure efficient delivery of breaking news content across all digital platforms in real-time. Facilitate gathering of compelling, timely digital content using information from various sources and contacts. Participate in news editorial meetings, working with news managers to integrate broadcast and digital content across all platforms.  Oversee the station's social media strategy, including promotion of overall brand and talent.  Continuously evaluate all digital and social content, tracking success and outlining future opportunities for improvement. Constantly monitor digital and social analytics, using data to drive content decisions and create an optimal experience for the user. Communicate trends as they develop to the digital team and newsroom so they can make the best coverage decisions possible, based on user interest. Develop and maintain special coverage sections and platform-specific content, both for planned events and breaking news. Maintain digital editorial calendar. Collaborate with sales and promotions to create advertising or other promotional content as needed. Constantly update staff on best practices for digital publishing and overall digital and social strategies. Oversee digital publishing workflows, always looking for the most efficient yet effective ways to get things done. Stay on top of the latest digital technology news and understand new platforms as they emerge. Maintain continuous communication and collaboration with other Senior Digital Producers in the FTS station group, looking for opportunities to share relevant content from other markets and beyond. Perform various administrative duties to keep all digital and social platforms current and running smoothly, including maintaining relationships with vendors and other partners, both internal and external. Must be creative, concise, and attentive to detail. Able to handle deadline pressure, take direction from news managers and digital leadership. Adapt quickly to emerging digital technology. Perform other duties as assigned by the News Director and/or Assistant News Director. Work varied hours including holidays and weekends. Must understand and perform all Web Producer duties as needed, and fill in for Web Producers during their absence.

Qualifications: BA/BS Degree in Journalism, Mass Communications, or related field with emphasis on digital publishing. 5+ years experience developing and publishing news content for digital platforms. Superior writing skills and news judgment. Advanced knowledge of content management systems, social media platforms, live streaming, digital analytics tools and emerging digital technologies. Working knowledge of HTML, video editing and photo editing software. Experience publishing and maintaining podcasts a plus. Technician/Technical Director  (Regular, Full time)

Fox 5 WTTG News, Washington DC the #1 News Station and most hours of local news is looking for a talented and creative technical director to switch our top-rated newscasts. Some of our newscasts are produced using the Sony ELC automation system, and some newscasts are punched manually. The ideal candidate will be strong in both situations. Experience as a director in an automated environment is a plus. Duties include operating Sony ELC automation, Sony MV8000 video switcher, SSL audio C100 and C10 audio consoles, Chyron Camio/ISQ system, Chyron Mosaic and  PowerClips and Vinten robotic cameras. The Technician/Newscast Technical Director may be called upon to fill a variety of production roles for our newscasts and prep material for air on our two stations. Other roles may include, audio board operator, character generator operator, robotic camera operator, floor director and MC.

Qualifications: HS Diploma (or equivalent) required. College degree preferred. 3 years recent TV experience as a Technical Director is required. Work professionally as part of a cohesive team within specific time constraints. HS diploma or equivalent required, college preferred. Studio Technician (Per Diem)
Fox 5 WTTG News, Washington DC the #1 News Station and most hours of local news is looking for a Per Diem Studio Technician.  Fill a variety of production roles for our newscasts and prep material for air on our two stations.  Roles may include, technical director, audio board operator, character generator operator, robotic camera operator and floor director.  Also, master control commercial and program prep.  May also operate master control during live sports and at other times.  Operate Sony ELC automation and Sony MV8000 video switcher.  Operate Sony MV8000 video switcher in manual mode (w/o ELC control).  Operate SSL audio C100 and C10 audio console and all associated audio equipment.  Operate Chyron Camio/ISQ system, controlling Chyron Mosaic and PowerClips servers.  Operate Vinten robotic cameras.  Floor direct and provide cues to talent in the studio.  Use iNews computer and Sony ELC playlist viewer.  Use Miranda iTX master control system to prepare programming and commercial content for air.  Edit the iTX playlist as needed to add, delete and adjust programming and commercial segments for air.  Operate iTX during live programming, including sports, to trigger commercial breaks on cue and adjust for programming which is over or under the program length.

Qualifications: Work professionally as part of a cohesive team within specific time constraints.  HS diploma or equivalent required, college pref.  One year recent commercial TV experience required.  The ideal candidate will have all of the skills and experience listed above, but we will consider applicants who have strong abilities in some or most of these skills.  WTTG/WDCA is a 24x7 operation.  Varied shifts, OT, weekends & holidays will be required.
