Teen charged in Prince George's County basement shooting

LANDOVER (FOX 5 DC) - A Prince George's County teenager accused of shooting another youth in a Landover basement - leaving him in critical condition - is under arrest.

Police say Edwin Munoz Hernandez told them he was drinking alcohol and playing with guns inside the home on Dorman Street when he pointed a weapon at the victim and fired it.

Munoz Hernandez, 16, is charged with first-degree assault, use of a handgun in a crime of violence, and related gun crimes.

The victim - who has not been identified - suffered life threatening injuries.

Hernandez is in jail without bond.
