Person assaulted by 2 suspects at L'Enfant Plaza Metro station

Two suspects assaulted someone at the L'Enfant Plaza Metro station Wednesday afternoon, according to the transit agency.

This attack happened at around 3 p.m. at the L'Enfant Plaza Metro station. A Metro official told FOX 5 that Metro Transit Police witnessed the assault.

The teenage suspects hopped on a Yellow Line train to make a getaway, but police caught them at the Mt. Vernon Square station.

The victim was treated at the scene by medical personnel, but the extent of his or her injuries is unknown.

A Metro Transit Police officer told FOX 5 that these group attacks are on the rise. This is the fifth known group attack at a Metro station since December.

In a FOX 5 exclusive, two victims came forward to us this week to tell us about a terrifying attack at Metro Center on Jan. 2. The couple was just sitting on a bench at the station at around 10 p.m. after a night out at the movies when as many at ten juveniles came up and started punching them.

The male victim said he was sucker-punched and left badly bruised while his girlfriend was left bleeding with a split lip. They said the attack was unprovoked.

Metro Transit Police have released images of four suspects believed to be connected to the attack. Police say if you are able to identify any of the suspects to call them at 202-962-2121 and reference case #2016-00025.
