WASHINGTON - Although we're likely to be blanketed with clouds the next few days, if you're lucky, you may be able to spot the bright lights of the annual Geminid meteor shower over the skies of the D.C. area.
The FOX 5 Weather Team says the best nights to view the meteor shower will be Thursday into Friday. They say the lights should be bright enough to be classified as fireballs.
The weather team says it received reports early Monday from people who saw bright streaks of light, which may, in fact, have been Geminids.
The reports came from more rural and dark locations - away from the District's light pollution - which always make the best place to view meteor showers.
