Man exposed himself to girls near elementary school, Loudoun County deputies say

Loudoun County sheriff's deputies are searching for a man they say exposed himself to children near an elementary school.

It happened in Sterling on Monday.

The Loudoun County Sheriff's Office says two girls were walking near Lowes Island Elementary School at 2:50 p.m. when they a saw a man standing completely naked with a light blue bandana partially covering his face. The man is described as white, in his 40s with light brown, short hair.

The sheriff's office has released a sketch of the suspect.

Deputies say the man was standing along the wood line by Buoy Place and Saulty Drive. He did not approach or speak to the girls.

However, neighbors say it is disturbing, especially for this area.

"We don't see a lot of crime, at least not that I'm aware of," said resident Chris Garza. "[Police] do a fair amount of patrols around here. And normally people are out here walking, hiking, walking their dogs ... so we don't really see a lot of kids around without adults around too."

"It doesn't really worry me," added Liz Long. "It is weird. But ... I'm glad there was a group of kids and not just one."

Anyone with any information regarding the possible identity of the suspect is asked to contact Detective D. Orr of the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office Special Victims Unit at 703-777-1021.
