Driver of vehicle-for-hire sexually assaulted passenger, DC police say

WASHINGTON - Police are searching for the driver of a vehicle-for-hire who sexually assaulted a woman in Northwest D.C. early Saturday morning.

D.C. police say the incident happened when the suspect stopped the vehicle in the 2200 block of Champlain Street during the woman's ride at around 2:45 a.m.

According to the police report, the victim was digitally penetrated by the suspect without her consent.

The suspect is described as a black male between 25 and 35 years old with an average build. He was last seen driving a red Nissan Altima with unknown license plates. The suspect's vehicle was captured by a nearby surveillance camera in the area, police say.
