30-year-old man struck, killed crossing Montgomery County road
WHEATON, Md. - Police say they are investigating after a pedestrian was struck and killed in Montgomery County just after midnight Saturday morning.
Police say a 30-year-old man died after being struck by a car at Layhill Road and Greenery Lane in the Whetaon/Glenmont area just after 12 a.m.
Montgomery County police say they found the pedestrian, now identified as Alberto Alexander Duque, was attempting to cross northbound Layhill Road at Greenery Lane when he was struck by a 2013 Toyota Prius that was also going northbound on Layhill Road.
Investigators say Duque was transported to an area hospital where he died from his injuries.
The driver of the Prius is identified as 47-year-old Brian Douglas from Bowie.
