WASHINGTON - It was a wet Opening Day Thursday as severe thunderstorms delayed the Washington Nationals' home opener.
The Nationals were able to play into the middle of the 2nd inning before heavy rain and thunderstorms moved through through the area, delaying the game before 5 p.m. It resumed at around 6:15 p.m.
Other parts of the D.C. region encountered severe weather as Severe Thunderstorm Warnings were issued for several counties in central and southern Maryland.
The rest of the week into the weekend looks dry. But don’t rule out rain (possibly snow) showers on Saturday. Believe it or not – it will be cold enough this weekend for some snow showers to materialize on Saturday for parts of region to the north and west.
Let's hope this is the last forecast of the season that includes the word "SNOW!"
