Biggest Redskins fan? Md. woman's love for her team displayed inside her home

As the Washington Redskins get ready for their first playoff game in three years, dedicated fans are getting ready to support their team as well.

One woman in Prince George's County has been preparing for this weekend for years and her household has picked up a few mementos along the way.

With the team in the postseason, all kinds of new passengers are jumping on the bandwagon. But not for Laverne Swain-Thompson. She has been a fan her entire life and has a house full of Redskins paraphernalia to prove it.

According to Laverne, her living room is filled with "Redskins love" and is essentially a shrine for her favorite team.

She has adorned her home in burgundy and gold to pay her team back for all the joy they have given her -- even in the toughest of times.

"I love the Washington Redskins," she said. "They make me smile. I'm a cancer survivor. I think of good times with them and think of good times of seeing them play ball. And when they play ball, it just gets me excited."

Laverne has been a Redskins fan for 62 years and her household is already preparing for Sunday's game against the Green Bay Packers with an impromptu Redskins party. It's a party they see going all the way to Santa Clara for the Super Bowl.
