Olympic star Katie Ledecky to throw out first pitch at Wednesday's Nationals-Orioles game

- Fresh off winning four golds and a silver medal at the Rio Olympic Games, hometown hero Katie Ledecky will be throwing out the ceremonial first pitch before Wednesday evening’s game between the Washington Nationals and Baltimore Orioles.

The Bethesda, Maryland native was a breakout star in Brazil as she took home gold individually in the 200, 400 and 800-meter freestyle events and in the 4x200-meter freestyle relay. She also added a silver medal in the 4x100-meter freestyle relay.

It will be the third time Ledecky will be throwing out the first pitch at Nationals Park. She first took the mound in 2012 after winning a gold medal at the London Olympics. The 19-year-old Olympic star also had the same honor before the Nationals' first postseason game in 2014.

Ledecky will take her talents to the West Coast this fall as she will begin her freshman year at Stanford University.
