Would-be thieves destroy gas station wall in attempt to steal ATM

Police are investigating after would-be thieves took out a wall of a Prince George's County gas station while trying to steal an automatic teller machine.

The incident happened around 2:30 a.m. Wednesday at a Shell station on the 8200 block of Woodward Road in Clinton.

Police say the suspects did not get away with the ATM but caused considerable damage.

Detectives are investigating the possibility that the suspects used a vehicle to knock down the wall.

No injuries were reported. Police have not identified any suspects at this time.
