Woman reunited with US Capitol Police officer who helped with medical emergency

A woman was reunited with a U.S. Capitol Police officer who went above and beyond the call of duty to help get her emergency care. Police say Angie Moore was driving herself to the hospital last week because she was having trouble breathing.

Angie said road closures during Pope Francis' visit forced her to make an illegal u-turn on Independence Avenue in the southwest. When she did, she was pulled over by Officer Thomas Connor.

Officer Connor said that Angie was upset about being pulled over, but once he saw that she was having an emergency, he calmed her down and found doctors nearby who could help.

"I searched him out. This is my first day really out and about, and I flagged somebody else down this morning to find him," Moore said.

She said U.S. Capitol Police were happy that she stopped by to thank the officer and were glad to know that she was doing better.
