Virginia State Police trooper's vehicle struck by taxi on Fairfax highway

A Virginia State Police trooper suffered minor injuries after their SUV was struck from behind by a taxi early Tuesday morning in Fairfax.

The accident happened around 3:30 a.m. on eastbound Route 50 near Dorforth Drive.

Officials say the trooper was stationed at a work zone and was inside the vehicle when it was struck. Both the trooper and the taxi driver, who also suffered minor injuries, remained on the scene.

It is unclear if any charges will be filed. Some traffic was delayed in the area during the investigation.
