Vigil held for Orlando shooting victims

A vigil held Sunday night at the White House in order to remember and honor the victims of the Orlando mass shooting.

Earlier Sunday. the LGBT pride festival in Washington was a more somber occasion this year in the wake of  the shooting in Florida.
Festival goers took part in a moment of silence to honor the victims before the playing of "The Star Spangled Banner."

The Maryland Outreach Department of the Council on American-Islamic Relations is planning to hold a news conference Monday with Maryland faith leaders, elected officials and activists to respond to the deadly shooting.

That event is being held at the Washington Monument.

Officials said more than 50 people were killed and dozens more were wounded early Sunday after a gunman opened fire at a gay nightclub in Orlando.
