Video shows vehicle intentionally driven on the sidewalk after fight, police say

Frightening video released by police shows a vehicle they say was intentionally driven on the sidewalk during a scary incident investigators say stemmed from a fight outside of a Silver Spring restaurant.

Police say the incident was reported just before 5:30 a.m. on September 15 in the 900 block of Bonifant Street.

Officers say a vehicle was captured on surveillance video turning and driving on the sidewalk near the EVA Lounge. Officers say the driver of the vehicle attempted to run over several people during the incident. They say the driver, and other suspects, had previously been involved in a physical altercation with patrons of the restaurant.

Police say the driver struck a man in the leg with the vehicle. Several parking meters were also destroyed. The victim did not require medical attention.

The vehicle is described as a dark gray Honda Accord sedan. Officers have so far been unable to locate the suspect vehicle that last seen turning onto northbound Fenton Street.

Investigators say the suspect who drove on the sidewalk is described as a light-skinned black male, 30 to 40-years-old, 6-feet-2-inches tall with a heavy build. He was wearing a white T-shirt, white shoes, and khaki pants. A second suspect is described as a black male, between 25 and 35-years-old, 5-feet-7-inches tall with a thin build. He was wearing a grey and black shirt, dark pants, and dark colored shoes.
