WASHINGTON - Metro Transit Police are drawing criticism after video posted online shows an officer kicking the feet from under a teen girl who was in handcuffs and was being placed under arrest.
Authorities say the incident happened on Tuesday around 6:30 p.m. inside the Columbia Heights Metro Station. Police say a teen was carrying a bag of potato chips and was told by the officer to either put the food away or leave the station.
Officers say the teen refused several times and was then placed under arrest. Video of the incident, taken by a passerby and posted online by Black Lives Matter D.C., shows the officer kicking the feet from under the girl while she was handcuffed.
Police say the girl is 18-years-old and was not injured during the incident. Police say the girl was arrested for Unlawful Entry, however, charges were never filed.
