Va. police release new sketch in 1982 unsolved murder

The Virginia State Police and Loudoun County Sheriff's Office have released an age-progression composite sketch in hopes of advancing the investigation into the 1982 unsolved murder of a Fairfax County woman.

A passerby discovered Veronica Hepworth's partially-clothed body along a driveway the morning of February 25, 1982, in Loudoun County.

The 20-year-old was last seen alive hours earlier at the Fancy Dancer Bar on Route 1 in Fairfax County. It is not known if she left the bar alone or with another person.

An age-progression sketch has been developed to show what Hepworth's last-known serious boyfriend might look like today. Her boyfriend would likely be in his mid-50s to early 60s now.

Hepworth's family and investigators have not been able to identify the boyfriend.

Anyone with information about Hepworth or the unidentified individual in the photograph or sketch is encouraged to call Virginia State Police or the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office.
