UPDATE: 2 arrests made in armed robberies along DC bike trail

D.C. police have made arrests in connection with a series of armed robberies that happened on or near the Metropolitan Branch Trail in Northeast. 

Four of the robberies happened this past Sunday between 11 a.m. and 7:30 p.m., and another one happened on Monday. Police say suspects armed with a knife approached victims demanding their cell phones and numeric codes.

Around 7 p.m. Tuesday, police arrested two juvenile males in connection with the robberies. Hours earlier, police released surveillance video showing two persons of interest in the case.
