Police: 2 children under age 5 stabbed by their father

Police in Prince George's County obtained an arrest warrant Sunday for Christian Dillard, 25, after he allegedly stabbed his two young children.

Officers were called to Dillard's home at around 10 p.m. Saturday for the report of the stabbings. His two children, both under five-years-old, were rushed to the hospital for treatment and remained hospitalized Sunday.

No other family members were in the home, located in the 1700 block of Dennis Court, at the time of the incident and Dillard was taken for an emergency evaluation immediately after officers arrived on the scene.

Dillard has been charged with attempted first degree murder, assault and related charges.

He has also been charged with sexually assaulting a woman who lives in the family's home earlier in the day. Dillard and that victim had apparently had a prior romantic relationship and, after the assault, he fled before officers arrived. Detectives investigated throughout the day and eventually detained Dillard following the stabbing.
