WASHINGTON - Social media is ripping Fisher-Price over a photo of a fake "happy hour playset" that was posted online.
The photo began circulating the internet after a Facebook user posted the picture, which showed three toddlers (one supposedly posing as a rather grumpy-looking bartender), bar stools, plastic beer bottles and other items you might find in a bar. The image indicates the playset is intended for kids ages 3 and up. The photo was created by an instagram user who goes by the name, @adam.the.creator.
Many users took to the company's social media pages to express their thoughts. Some saw it as a complete joke, even going as far as to request it as their Christmas gift.
But many others were completely outraged at the photo, and they wasted no time expressing their concerns over the image.
-- a website that investigates rumor posts and stories-- set the record straight confirming that the playset is a fake.
The social media backlash even forced the company to issue the following statement: "Please know that this product is not endorsed, produced or approved by Fisher-Price."
