Thieves attempt to steal ATM from DC gas station

WASHINGTON - Police are searching for a group of would-be-thieves who tried to steal an automated teller machine from a gas station in Southeast D.C.

The attempted theft happened around 3:30 a.m. at a BP gas station on 41st Street and Alabama Avenue.

The incident left the machine damaged. It is unclear if any money was stolen.
