Here are the five things you need to know about the refreeze—and what it means to your Friday—with a little help from the FOX 5 Weather Team:
1. IT'S GONNA GET COLD.
We're talking after the snow. Temps tonight will be in the TEENS. We might even see some single digits to the north and west. (Translation: Get out your flannel jammies and 47 pairs of socks and PUT THEM ON)
And that's important because…..
2. EVERYTHING WILL FREEZE OVERNIGHT.
Yes, everything. All those chemicals that were on the pavement Wednesday were washed away by the rain that came BEFORE the snow. So, whatever falls will freeze, and if you've looked outside lately, you know that means EVERYTHING. Which brings us to #3.
3. CLOSINGS AND DELAYS ARE LIKELY FOR FRIDAY.
If you're busy doing the four-day weekend dance, there's probably a good chance you'll have it. The refreeze will make a mess of the roads and many school districts have announced closings for Friday. But do your homework just to be safe (we know you would anyway…).

4. THURSDAY=YOUR BEST SLEDDING OPPORTUNITY.
This snow is fab for some serious sledding, but get out there now (right after you read this AND share it AND watch continuing snow coverage on FOX 5 J). When things ice over, the consistency will change a little, and you'll have to wait until we have a little melting on Friday for it to be sled-worthy again.
5. ONLY 15 DAYS UNTIL SPRING.
… but we'll see signs next week. HELLO 60s! We're coming for you, March 20.
Enjoy your FOX 5 Snow Day… and tweet us your snowfies! Don't forget that #fox5snowday hashtag. (We're @fox5newsdc!)
