TAKOMA PARK, Md. - Police are investigating after a woman's body was found next to a dumpster in Montgomery County on Tuesday morning. The discovery was made in an office park located in the 7500 block of New Hampshire Avenue.
Police have identified the victim as 34-year-old Elena Gugicheva. Investigators say she died as a result of stab wounds.
FOX 5's Paul Wagner spoke to the maintenance worker who discovered the woman's body. He said he recognized her, and that she worked for a lawyer in the complex. It is unclear when anyone last saw the woman, but according to a source, she occasionally spent the night inside the office where she worked.
Police spent time sifting through trash cans and conducted a grid search on a hillside next to the fenced-in area where the dumpsters are located and the body was found. Police also opened up a manhole cover and searched inside a drain to look for anything that would help them close the case. They also spent considerable time in the lobby of the complex and took multiple photos.
