Sunny and warm Monday; heat, humidity and showers return later in the week

Plenty of sunshine, dry conditions and comfortable temperatures Monday across the D.C. region. FOX 5's Michelle Rotella says highs will be in the mid to upper 80s -- possibly reaching 90 degrees -- for much of the area. Mild temperatures are here to begin the day with a much welcomed break from the humidity.

On Tuesday, pop-up showers and isolated thunderstorms are possible as the remnants of Tropical Storm Barry inches into our area. The heat and humidity also return as we move forward into the week. Highs in the low to mid 90s are expected through the weekend as we look at another possible heat wave.
