Summertime temperatures in the area until midweek

It might be mid-October but summertime temperatures are in the area and are expected to stick around until midweek.

High pressure to the south of the D.C. region is allowing for a warm forecast similar to what we experienced for much of the summer.

FOX 5's Gary McGrady and Tucker Barnes both say temperatures will be high enough that there may be potential to set some records at the local airports.

Relive July and August while you can - more seasonal temperatures return by the weekend. Look for cooler weather to begin Thursday night into Friday when there is a chance for rain.
