Study: DC could sink 6 inches over next 100 years

A new study says Washington, D.C. is slowly sinking.

According to research from geologists at the University of Vermont and the U.S. Geological Survey, the land under the Chesapeake Bay is sinking.

Experts project the nation's capital could drop by six inches or more over the next 100 years.

Researchers also say the falling land will exacerbate flooding from rising sea levels.
