Stranger attempts to pull sleeping boy through window

Early Tuesday morning a man broke into a home in the Fairmount Heights area and attempted to kidnap a 7-year-old boy at approximately 3:45 a.m., according to the Fairmount Heights Police Department.

At the time, the suspect was outside of the house, but attempted to pull the child out of the bed through an unlocked window in the 5900 block of L Street. The victim woke up from the sudden attempt of abduction, yelled, and scared off the suspect.

The suspect was not caught and detectives are working to find and arrest this man. According to the victim the suspect is described as an African American male, 6'0" and 300 pounds. He was also wearing a white t-shirt.
Detectives will canvass the neighborhood in order to gain more information about the incident that took place last night.
