DC police locate suspicious person, shelter-in-place lifted for 2nd time at Catholic University

- D.C. police responded to Catholic University in Washington for the second time in less than 24 hours for a report of a possible armed suspect.

At around 8:18 p.m. Tuesday, the university ordered members of the campus community to shelter-in-place until notified otherwise.

Just before 9 p.m., D.C. police tweeted they located a suspicious person and were no longer searching for an armed person on campus.

Cathoic University lifted the shelter-in-place order at around 10 p.m.

Police and the school's Department of Public Safety also responded to the campus the previous night after a similar shelter-in-place was issued just after 12:30 a.m. Tuesday for reports of a gunman on campus.

A university official said a custodial worker reported Monday night being approached by a man with a weapon demanding the location of the administration building. The campus was deemed safe about 3 a.m. Tuesday.

The school's website said the person located Tuesday night was not the same from Monday's incident.
