WASHINGTON - Another round of winter weather is expected to hit our area early Friday morning, and while accumulation is not expected, the timing of the storm could impact the morning commute.
FOX 5's Caitlin Roth says the weather event will begin as rain on Thursday night. The rain will briefly turn to snow sometime between 3 a.m. and 6 a.m.
Depending on the exact time the change to snow comes, the morning commute could be slowed. The rain / snow may even continue through the morning past the 7 a.m. hour.
The bottom line – nothing is likely to stick but leave a little early for work and school tomorrow so you’re not caught in any weather related slowdowns.
After the wet and slippery morning, a cold and windy afternoon is expected with temperatures in the 30s.
After a mild Thursday rain showers move in along a cold front tonight. There will be a *brief* change to snow showers during the overnight hours but nothing expected to stick. Clearing out before the AM rush Friday @fox5dc pic.twitter.com/TjdNLqiuNQ— Caitlin Roth (@caitlinrothfox5) February 1, 2018
