Prince George's police investigate homicide in District Heights

Police are investigating a homicide in Prince George's County where a man was found dead.

Police say officers responded to the 5000 block of Hil Mar Drive in District Heights at around 5:20 a.m. Wednesday where they found the body of 32-year-old Rashaad Garnett Tate outside of a home.

According to police, Tate had been shot and set on fire. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Several roads in the area were closed during the death investigation.

According to police, detectives do not believe this was a random act and are working to identify a suspect and motive in Tate's death.

A $25,000 reward is being offered for information leading to an arrest and indictment in this case.
