Pregnant woman, brother charged after she allegedly threw cupcakes at him during argument

A pregnant woman and her brother were arrested and face charges after an alleged cupcake fight that happened over the weekend in Florida.

Police were called to a Vero Beach home around 1:30 a.m. on Saturday for a disturbance report.

Indian River County sheriff's officers say 24-year-old Latanya Daugherty, who is over a month pregnant, and her brother, 30-year-old Eddie Robert Yaddow, were arguing over who should discipline Daugherty's child.

According to police documents, Daugherty then allegedly threw cupcakes at her brother, striking him in the arm. Yaddow allegedly retaliated by wiping the blue frosting from the cupcakes in Daugherty's hair and then kicking her in the stomach. Police say the two then threw random items, like cans of food, at each other.

The documents say Daugherty was the initial aggressor when she allegedly threw the cupcakes at her brother. She was charged with misdemeanor battery domestic violence and was released on bond.

Police say Yaddow, who they say knew of his sister's pregnancy, assumed the aggressor role when he allegedly kicked her in the stomach. He was charged with felony aggravated battery and remained in jail on a $10,000 bond.

No injuries were reported by either sibling. Daugherty is expected in court later this month and Yaddow is expected in court in August.
