Police release sketch of suspect in Silver Spring attempted rape

Montgomery County police released a sketch of a suspect who tried to sexually assault a woman in Silver Spring.

Police say the incident happened around 11 p.m. Wednesday night on Hampshire Court West in Silver Spring. The victim tells investigators a man approached and asked her for sex. When she refused, she says he pushed her to the ground and attempted to rape her.

The victim fought him off, and and the man fled. Police believe the same man exposed himself to another woman shortly before the attempted rape. The second woman was not hurt.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic man in his late 20s to early 30s who is 5'8" tall and weighs approximately 155 pounds. He has a round, clean shaven face, very thin lips, and very light skin.  He was last seen wearing a black puffy jacket with pockets on both sides and on the sleeves, darks jeans or dark sweat pants, and black sneakers.
