Police impersonation in Glen Burnie

Police are searching for a man who allegedly impersonated a police officer on July 4 in Glen Burnie.

The suspect was driving a white Ford Crown Victoria when he pulled over the victim at approximately 1 a.m., according to police. The victim told police that the suspect's vehicle displayed a flashing blue and red dome light on the roof.

After approaching the victim, the suspect allegedly identified himself as an Anne Arundel County police officer and said he pulled the victim over for suspected DWI.

Police reports said that the suspect's behavior was "intimidating" and "threatening" as he "had the victim blow into a device that registered '.000' and had the victim walk in a straight line."

The suspect allegedly returned to his vehicle and headed northbound on Route 97.

The suspect had a silver Anne Arundel badge with "Williams" inscribed on it and a generic "police" patch on his shoulder.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 410-222-4700.
