Police identify body found in water offshore in Ocean City

OCEAN CITY, Md. - Police have identified the body of a man found dead in the water offshore in Ocean City as 25-year-old Michael West.

Lifeguards recovered the body of West, who was from Temple Hills, Md., Tuesday afternoon in the water off of 127th Street.

Members of the beach patrol who recovered the body say it showed signs of having been in the water for a long time.

Detectives say West had been reported missing to the Prince George's County Police Department and was last seen on Sunday, August 7, at approximately 5 a.m. in the area of 127th Street.
