3 found dead in domestic-related McLean incident


Three people are dead in Fairfax County after what police say was a domestic-related incident in McLean, Virginia, on Friday.

According to officials, three bodies were found in a house in the 1300 block of Windy Hill Road in McLean. Officials were alerted around 12:30 p.m. when a family member called to say a body could be seen through the window of the house.

“The body that was seen through a window a family member had called and reported they saw a body that was unresponsive officers responded and found three deceased individuals inside the home we do not have confirmed IDs on these individuals what I can tell you is detectives believe it is a domestic related incident. There was trauma to their body and that's it. We are still working to identify the bodies,” said Officer Megan Hawkins, Fairfax County Police.

The deceased have been identified as Shirley Zhou, 48, James Wenjie Chen, 16, and Hong Chen, 52, of McLean. Detectives say they believe that Hong Chen fatally shot his wife and son. 

Individuals who passed by the home on Friday evening seemed shocked by what was happening, and friends and neighbors walked by to lay flowers and try to make sense of what was happening.

Police said there is no threat to the community.
