Police arrest suspect in DC stabbing

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Metropolitan police say they have arrested a suspect in connection to an early morning stabbing near a bar in Washington that left a man critically wounded.

Police say they have arrested 35-year-old Joseph Ricardo Johnson in connection with the stabbing. Police say Johnson has been charged with assault with intent to kill.

Police say officers responded to the Zanzibar Night Club on the 1900 block of Pennsylvania Avenue just after 1 a.m. on Saturday morning for a report of a stabbing. Police say an investigation revealed that the stabbing occurred after a verbal argument between two men. The victim was taken to the hospital.
