WASHINGTON - Officials confirmed that a bank was robbed on Friday morning in Chinatown and they say they arrested the suspect in the 3rd Street Tunnel.
Police activity shut down the Southbound lanes of 3rd Street Tunnel for a short while on Friday morning.
The robbery occurred on 7th street northwest, according to officials. Police say it was an unarmed robbery and the suspect fled the scene before being apprehended in the tunnel.
The situation is over and the tunnel is back open.
