Paralyzed Maryland girl walks runway at New York Fashion Week

Some aspiring models dream about walking the runway at Fashion Week. Megan Silcott made it a reality-- despite a challenge most people don't face.

The Reisterstown, Maryland teenager completed her strut down the runway with the help of walker. Silcott became ill with a rare disorder when she was 16, and it left her paralyzed.

She's been fighting back ever since, and when she joined Good Day DC on Thursday morning, she shared the story of how she finally got the chance to walk that runway at fashion week. CLICK ON THE VIDEO ABOVE TO WATCH HER INTERVIEW!

Silcott, who is now 18, got a standing ovation at the end.

She's making steady progress in her recovery, and she's trying to raise $15,000 through a Go Fund Me page to pay for a new therapy bike to help her with her recovery.
