WASHINGTON - D.C. police along with Metro Transit Police responded to of an off-duty police involved shooting and stabbing at Union Station.
According to D.C. police, an Off-duty police officer shot a suspect after the suspect stabbed someone at Union Station.
Metro spokesman Dan Stessel , says an off-duty police officer shot a man with a knife in Union Station.
An innocent female bystander was also hit in the leg by the gunfire. She was taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The suspect was arrested shortly after by D.C. Police and also taken to a local hospital in an unknown condition.
According to Stessel, the incident occurred about 8:30 p.m. on an escalator between the Metro facility and the rail station.
The Metropolitan Police Department say, there is no active shooter or terrorism incident ongoing at Union Station.
The station’s First St entrance was closed due to the police activity. The Mass Ave entrance remained open.
