Woman who reported boyfriend missing now charged in his murder

Baytown Police say it's not every day a woman reports her lover missing and then they discover she dismembered his body with a machete.

"Fortunately we haven't had anything like this in my 18 years that I've been with the Baytown Police Department," said Lieutenant Steve Dorris.

According to court records 32-year-old Steven Coleman told a friend on a number of occasions if he was ever to go missing tell police his 30-year-old girlfriend Cierra Sutton is the cause.

"Cierra had confided to multiple people in Louisiana that she had in fact shot and killed Steven inside their apartment dismembered his body and disposed of his remains," Dorris said.

Police say Sutton's 10-year-old daughter was in the living room at the time of the slaying.

"As far as a motive as to why she would do this we just don't now," Dorris said.

Coleman's friend Elisa Delossantos says she wasn't surprised to hear the alleged killer was his girlfriend.

"Just from what other people were saying from the experiences they were having together him wanting to leave that relationship it seemed like one of those love hate relationships apparently she didn't want him to go on without her," Delossantos said.

Delossantos and Michael Gonzales said Coleman had a promising career as a rap artist.

Coleman can be seen in videos on YouTube under the name Slim Da Don.

"Yea he really was on the right path for some reason I guess things didn't go the way I guess he wished at the time," Gonzalez said. "He was a good guy and will be missed by a lot of people."

Police believe a torso recently found at the Baytown Landfill is Coleman's however an exact identification is pending DNA tests.

Sutton was arrested in Metairie Louisiana and will be brought here to stand trial for murder.
