Sen. Isakson Rebukes Hacktivists' Claims He is in KKK

Georgia's Senior U.S. Senator has threatened legal action over a claim that he was a member of the Ku Klux Klan.

In a statement released Monday, Sen. Johnny Isakson's office said "This information is absolutely false. Senator Isakson has never been affiliated with the KKK."

The online hacktivist group released the names, phone numbers, and email addresses of several Republican lawmakers, including Indiana Senator Dan Coats, who tweeted that the claim is baseless internet garbage of the worst kind.

Isakson's office further stated about the claim: "Because we so firmly believe that this information is libelous and malicious, even under the public official standard, we are prepared to take legal action against any and all who continue to name Johnny Isakson and disseminate this false, unreliable, and unsourced information."

The group of online activists is calling their campaign "Hoods Off."
