A Pasco Sheriff's Office K-9, appropriately named Buster, made his first catch since celebrating his first birthday a week ago.

Deputies said the incident began Saturday morning when 29-year-old Brandon Johnson, broke into a home near Sea Ranch Road.

According to investigators, Johnson was in the midst of taking items from the residence when he was confronted by the homeowner. The suspect then fled on foot.

That's when K-9 Buster arrived at the scene with his handler, Deputy Chris Miller. The Sheriff's Office said Buster tracked the suspect for 27 minutes and traveled over a mile before finding the suspect at another residence.

Deputies said Buster's keen tracking skills helped to catch the suspect and return over $5,000 in property to the homeowner.
