Minor earthquake shakes Louisa area

LOUISA, Va. (AP) -- Some residents in Louisa County might have felt a little rattled on Sunday.

The U.S. Geological Survey says a magnitude-2.8 earthquake struck at 3:02 a.m. The epicenter was about 6 miles south of Louisa.

The agency's website shows the earthquake was felt in Peebles, Ohio, 485 miles from the epicenter.

Media outlets say there have been no reports of injuries or damage.

In 2011, Louisa County was struck by a magnitude-5.8 earthquake. Numerous minor quakes have occurred since then.
