METRO ALERT: Arcing insulator reportedly causes flames, sparks along tracks near Friendship Heights
An arcing insulator reportedly caused flames and sparks along the tracks near the Friendship Heights Metro station Monday.
The incident was reported around 9 a.m. and caused delays along the Red Line.
Some passengers were told to exit the trains and move away quickly.
FOX 5 captured images that appear to show the flames along the tracks.
Metro says that trains are moving, however, delays continue.
