Md. man gets 10 years in armed robbery of 74-year-old woman

UPPER MARLBORO, Md. (AP) -- A Baltimore man has been sentenced to 10 years in prison in the armed robbery of a 74-year-old gas station owner.

Prosecutors say Jung Kim was walking across the parking lot of her Suitland gas station in July 2013 when she was knocked to the ground and attacked by two men trying to steal a bag of money Kim was taking to her waiting son.

Prosecutors say Kim's son tried to help but that he had to flee when one of the men pulled a gun. Police arrested both men soon after.

One of them, 44-year-old Michael Hall of Baltimore, was sentenced Monday after pleading guilty to conspiracy to commit robbery. The other man pleaded guilty to armed robbery and faces up to 13 years in prison.
