FORT WASHINGTON, Md. - Residents in Fort Washington who visited McDonald's on Friday night were served by some very special staff.
The restaurant, located on Allentown Road, was taken over for the night by Chief Stawinski, Major Dickerson and Prince George's County District V police officers as part of an effort to raise money for local high school scholarships.
The event, dubbed "McOfficer Night," was created by McDonald's Owner and Operator Mary Davies, who pledged to donate 15 percent of the evening's sales directly to the District V Citizen's Advisory Council Scholarship Fund.
Officers spent the evening flipping burgers, taking drive-through orders and dolling out fries before being presented with a check from Davies.
