Puppy missing after running in terror after Beltway car crash

BETHESDA, Md. - A puppy is on the loose after escaping its owner's car moments after a car crash near the exit ramps from the inner loop of the Beltway to Interstate 270 and Interstate 495.

Video captured on SkyFox shows the owner opening the door to his recently crashed vehicle and the dog bolting out into the road and incoming traffic.

The dog narrowly avoided being hit by passing vehicles with one car having a very close call as it came to a complete stop on the roadway to avoid striking the runaway pet.

The dog then continued to run off into the grassy and wooded area on the side of the highway while its owner attempted to chase after the animal.

But after a while, the dog managed to elude its owner and remains on the loose as of Friday evening.
